The EURO’s is coming up and soon to be Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has some tough decisions regarding the strike force he will take to France.

It’s been a long time since Italy has had an outstanding world-class striker so the choice will prove to be even more difficult for Conte with a list of average house-hold names. Here are a few candidates for the job this summer.

Graziano Pelle – The 6ft 4 Southampton striker can add a direct approach to Italy’s game this summer if things become tricky. Not only does he provide a great threat in the air but he’s not bad with the ball at his feet either. The last two seasons at Southampton have been very successful for him and this season hasn’t been entirely wasted either scoring 13 goals in 34 goals for The Saints – as well as making 5 assists. He has featured 11 times for Italy since his first cap, scoring 4 times – which leaves him with a respectable ratio of 0.36 goals a game.

Eder – Born in Brazil but chosen for Gil Azzurri. Eder is a quicker choice than Pelle who can provide pace and mobility up front with a little Brazilian flair. He is currently playing for Inter Milan after being loaned to them from Sampdoria. Playing for Sampdoria he hit some impressive form scoring 12 goals in 19 games however he has since failed to score for Inter following his loan. The promising form he showed earlier in the season should not be forgotten however as he can provide Conte with something very different to his other options.

Lorenzo Insigne – Lorenzo has hit some notable good form at Napoli where he is being played in a very advanced role. Typically a winger, he can play in the attacking midfield slot and up front. He has had his best season to date with Napoli scoring 13 goals and making 11 assists in 38 games. This form has already seen him called up to the Italian squad by boss Conte resulting in him bagging a goal against current European champions Spain. Insigne looks like the player to be Conte’s main man if he carries on him impressive form.
