Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has confirmed that he has received several offers from MLS clubs, but he has chosen to stay at the Italian club in order to become a one club legend like Steven Gerrard.

The Liverpool midfielder is known for having represented just one club in his career, although this is about to change after he has agreed a move to MLS club LA Galaxy. He is expected to spend the next two years in North America before returning to Liverpool in some capacity. De Rossi is also considered as one of the legends at Roma, but he knows that he still can offer something to the club for more than a couple of years.

The midfielder reveals that he has a contract with Roma until 2017. Any move to a foreign club is expected to happen only beyond this date. In the past,De Rossi has been subjected to transfer rumours linking him with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. Both clubs have had Italian managers not in the distant past and they were very keen on bringing the all-round abilities ofDe Rossi to the team. It has been a disappointing season for Roma andDe Rossi after the team could only manage a title challenge until February.

“I was close to an experience abroad. There were moments in my life when I thought about changing. There were moments when I was leaning towards that big leap, but I remained at Roma. In general I am a person who likes to travel, so I would’ve enjoyed an experience abroad and was close to that at some moments in my career.I chose Roma, it was a professional chose and I’m happy with that. I would like to end with the same dignity as Gerrard,” said De Rossi.
